An official MOU was signed between Pomtech and the Telikom Limited at 10am on Friday, the 15th of December 2023, held in the Pomtech board room.

The MOU was signed by the Caretaker Principal, Mr. Tommy Yependohe and the Acting CEO of Telikom Limited, Mr. Silas Motali. This MOU signing was witnessed by Telikom’s technical representatives, the two deputy principals of Pomtech, Caretakers, teachers, administrative staff, as well as the deputy chairman of the Governing council of Pomtech and the EMTV media team.

The welcome remarks were presented by the deputy principal of Academic, Mr.Jake Mitiam. Mr. Mitiam, who presented the briefs of Pomtech as an institution, emphasized the skill gap to be implemented with Telikom Limited as part of this partnership through signing of the MOU.

The skill gap will assist in the specific training needs for Telikom’s officers who will study in Pomtech to equip them with additional knowledge under this partnership agreement.

Mr. Matali, the Acting CEO of Telikom Limited also mentioned that it is part of the MOU to upskill his staff in other professional areas, particularly in electrical power engineering, which will undoubtedly be a bonus for Telikom.

Under this MOU, Telikom Limited will provide free sim cards to students starting in the 2024 academic year once they are registered. Telikom Limited will also connect Wi-Fi to all the classrooms, dormitories and staff houses.

Telikom Limited will also setup their retail shop in the college, making it more convenient for the students, staff, and residents in Idubada area.

The Deputy Chairman of the Governing council was overwhelmed by the agreement and delighted with the packages from this partnership. He indicated that the MOU signing will be a great achievement, especially for students and staff to access the internet in the classrooms and buildings within the college.
