POMTECH is the oldest ‘premier’ technical college in Papua New Guinea. It started as the technical training Centre with a history spanning 70 years of existence. Almost 40 years ago, it benefited immensely from the Asian Development Bank loan that saw the college improve on its infrastructure development. POMTECH was then in excellent condition.
POMTECH aims to provide a broad spectrum of skills training to the people of Papua New Guinea in a targeted range of trades. The planned transition to a Polytechnic Institute will include extension of relevant courses to Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels of trade training.
